Hey, so I’ve been asked to present at the 2018 International Music Education Summit to be held June 14 – 16 on a screen near you. It is a 100% online, 3-day music education conference geared toward you—the music educator who wants to go to an amazing international conference but can’t due to time, money, and travel. If you register now (before the end of April) the price is only $49.00 USD—Completely affordable and and on your own time from the comfort of your own home! In online form, I will be presenting two sessions:

  1. On Thursday (June 14) I will be presenting Creativity in the Music Classroom, and on Saturday (June 16) I will be presenting my flagship session called Rock Bands in the Elementary School Setting (Part 1).

The sessions will look slightly different in an online setting but they will look something like this:

Creativity in the Music Classroom

  1. Creativity and music were once one in the same. This workshop delves into the history of creativity in music and gives you strategies for implementing creative activities into your music classroom from improvisation to sound painting and beyond. Bring an instrument and create music with your colleagues.

Rock Bands in the Elementary School Setting

  1. Come on up and play! This practical workshop brings you into my classroom and provides inspiration and practical tips for starting or advancing your own rock band at your school. No previous rock music experience required. You will leave with a list of resources and even a song tabbed out to get you started.

But no worries if you are not available on those days because registrants will have access to the sessions after they have initially been presented. But you don’t have to just sign up for my sessions, there are lots of other sessions to sign up for as well. Check out the presentation schedule for a list of sessions for the three days. There are so many amazing presenters giving interesting sessions too that you are bound to find something. Even if you find two or three really good sessions that interest you, 49 bucks without paying for travel, meals, or hotels is incredible value.

Until next time, Happy Musicking!
