I was asked to do this a while ago but I just can’t hold it in any longer!! At the end of October I will be travelling to St. John’s, Newfoundland to deliver not one, not two, not even three, but four workshops at RESONATE 2017! Not only am I presenting a workshop on Rock Bands in the Elementary School Setting, the wonderful people at the NLTA Music Special Interest Council have also asked if I would do three more while I’m there: The By-Ear-Learning Process, Creativity in the Music Classroom, and Songwriting for Performance. Of course, I said yes!

Any time I do a workshop with teachers I want it to be as practical and as useful as possible because I know from being on the other side that a lot of the time, they are not. I try to get as many people up as I can to play during my presentations because I know you want to play just as much as the kids do, and I know you will remember more if you a) watch it happen in front of you or b) actually get to play! I also try and have you leave with enough material for you to be able to implement what you learned in your classroom the next day!
