Why should you take advice from me?
I'm a Music Educator
I've taught K-6 General Music since 2008 and have experience teaching bands, choirs, rock groups, and musical theatre. I'm in the trenches every day! I know that there are kids we aren't connecting to in our traditional programs and so I've been a long-time advocate for including the authentic learning of popular styles in music classrooms along with creativity to enhance and modernize our existing programs.
I'm a Musician
I've played in multiple styles and genres over my career, from classical to ska, and from rock to jazz on a variety of instruments.
I'm an Author
I'm a Curriculum Specialist
I hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum Studies in Music Education and have been part of a team working on a new music curriculum for my home province of PEI.
This site is designed for and dedicated to the professional development of music teachers in Canada and around the world. The Lesson Plans and Blog pages contain a plethora of material I have created to directly help music teachers like you in your classrooms. Feel free to use anything on this site in your classroom and don't forget to peruse my list of publications and workshops. Also, if there is anything you would like to see, please do not hesitate to contact me.
